Exeter
Roman city with university, historical cathedral and Guildhall, excellent shopping centre, river and canal, visitors' centre on the quayside.
Bristol
A major city and port, once the largest city in England. Historical docks, famous ships, iron suspension bridge, zoo, large shopping centre, beautiful cathedral.
Dartmoor and Buckfastleigh
A scenic and beautiful National Park with wild horses, good walking, visitors' centre.
Buckfastleigh Abbey is famous for its honey and tonic made by Benedictine monks.
Totnes and Dartmouth
Totnes is a small town famous for its crafts, with boat trips along the beautiful River Dart to Dartmouth and its castle.
Bath
Historical spa city with Abbey, museums, exclusive shops, Roman Baths and ruins, famous Pump Room where students can drink the healing water.
Wookey, Wells and Street
Wookey Hole Caves and Papermill - students can explore the amazing caves, and make their own paper at the mill. Wells is England's smallest city but has a beautiful Cathedral, and Bishop's Palace surrounded by a moat. Street is well-known for its shoe factories and discounted designer clothes stores.
Plymouth
A modern city with excellent shops, Plymouth has the largest naval docks in Europe. Students can take boat trips around the harbour, see frigates, submarines and destroyers, and visit the Dome visitors' centre which tells the history of the city, and the National Marine Aquarium.
Exmoor and Dunster Castle
Situated on the edge of the beautiful Exmoor National Park, Dunster is an unspoilt medieval village with a large restored castle overlooking the Bristol Channel.
Stonehenge and Salisbury
Stonehenge is a world-famous ring of standing stones which date back 5000 years, a place of pagan worship. Salisbury has a magnificent cathedral containing Europe's oldest working clock and ancient documents.
