Intensive Course

The Intensive Course covers the four basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing and is designed to improve communication in spoken and written English. To build students’ confidence, accuracy and fluency, two class teacher work closely together to provide learner-focused lessons.

Classes are held in the mornings and the timetable for our Intensive Course is ideal for students who want free time to join in our social programme, spend time with their friends or work on a part-time basis.

Combined Course

The Combined Course is designed to provide a thorough knowledge of general English combined with a focus on particular areas of interest or priority for the individual student.

Students participating in our Combined Course follow a morning Intensive Course with an additional five hours of individual tuition. The individual afternoon lesson allows participants to concentrate on specific areas of language development and work on a one-to-one basis with the teacher in order to achieve their academic goals.

Intensive Plus Speaking Skills

The Intensive Plus Course is designed for students who wish to supplement their Intensive Course with extra conversation classes in small groups in the afternoons to improve fluency in English.

It allows students to develop their language skills in the morning lessons and put these skills into practice in the afternoon group conversation classes. The smaller conversation classes help to facilitate meaningful discussion within the group. Teachers concentrate on vocabulary building and idiomatic language, leading to more natural English speech.

The afternoon conversation classes are available at three levels, starting from pre-intermediate and cover a wide range of topics of discussion. 

A minimum language level of Pre-intermediate (A2) is required. This course is offered at the following levels: Pre-Intermediate (A2), Intermediate (B1), Upper Intermediate (B2).

Intensive Plus Business

The Business English Course combines the Intensive Course with afternoon lessons focusing specifically on developing language skills within the context of the world of business. Topics covered include the language of meetings, negotiations and presentations, marketing, sales and advertising and techniques for telephoning and e-communication. The smaller afternoon groups facilitate interaction in realistic business settings.

A minimum level of good intermediate (CEFR B2) is required for this course.

IELTS Examination Course

IELTS is the International English Language Testing System which tests English proficiency across the globe. The IELTS Examination Course focuses on developing key techniques and strategies for the IELTS Examination. Participants complete regular practice tests and are taught how to approach all the sections of the test effectively. Our Academic Team are available to assist with the application process for the IELTS Examination.

IELTS examination preparation courses will run year-round subject to a minimum number of participants, starting from Target Score 5.0 (subject to an entrance test). The examination fee is not included in the course fees.

Intensive Plus IELTS Preparation

Our Intensive Plus Examination programmes combine the Intensive Course in the morning with afternoon classes of exam-specific preparation. The course focuses on the four skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing and on developing IELTS examination techniques and strategies.

IELTS examination preparation courses will run year-round subject to a minimum number of participants, starting from Target Score 5.0 (subject to an entrance test). The examination fee is not included in the course fees.

Academic mentors, class teachers and the Director of Studies monitor the progress of all of our Academic Year Students. The programme allows students to combine different courses and modules and our team is always on hand to help students identify the best path for them. Students enrolled in the Academic Year Programme usually begin in our Intensive Course to gain a firm grounding in general English skills. After that, students of an appropriate level can take part in our other 20-hour courses, such as Cambridge and IELTS Examination.

This course is designed for the professional who wishes to concentrate on particular language skills or work on specific areas of English. The course is tailor-made to suit the exact requirements of the client and all participants complete a Needs Analysis prior to their arrival.

Intensive Combined Course

This course offers a combination of group and individual classes and makes full use of the limited time available during a short stay. Clients study in our general international group classes in the morning and can use their individual hours of tuition to concentrate on specific areas of interest.

Intensive Course 15

Our afternoon programme delivers a core syllabus using the communicative teaching approach. This makes use of real-life situations that necessitate communication and the language is taught and practised in a context that students are likely to encounter in their daily life. Using the target language in a way that is immediately relevant makes learning more effective. The first lesson of the day focuses on grammar and use of English and the second focuses more on listening and fluency skills. This course is suitable for students who need a more flexible programme with high-quality English-language preparation.

To attend this course you need a minimum Pre-intermediate level of English (CEFR A2).
