friLingue Language and Talents

A somewhat different language learning experience!

Your German is “nicht schlecht”, but your French only “oui, oui un peu”? Then it is about time to refresh what you have already learned, to add a few new things, and above all to practice!
friLingue Language and Talents offers you the opportunity to freshen up your French, English, or German skills at an unbeatable price. At the same time, you get to know new people, discover the most beautiful spots of Switzerland, and enjoy your summer in great company.

Lessons in groups of 6

In the mornings you get to enjoy a varied language course from young, native-speaking teachers. You choose between “basic - 10 lessons” and “intense - 20 lessons”, depending on how many language lessons you want to follow. The course takes place in the morning from 9 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

"Join in" camp

"So far, nothing new? But now ...

In addition to conventional language courses we organize various workshops. Are you open to new things and have always wanted to try a new hobby like dancing salsa, or to take a look at the fascinating world that lies behind programming? Then here is YOUR opportunity to meet new exciting people and get introduced to their skills.

And the teachers?

Everyone has their talent. The time has come to show it to the world!
Do you dance the tango, cook like an Italian, do you love yoga, and have the courage to share it with others? Then lead your workshop now and show us what inspires you! Be it photography, website design, theater, climbing, creating a podcast, writing texts, playing the piano, tennis, salsa, philosophy, programming, singing, piano, Lindy Hopp, chess, Photoshop, Italian, editing films, origami, tai chi or any other hobby - we are interested in learning about your talents.

And how does that work exactly?

Before your arrival we make a hobby bazaar. Each hobby workshop lasts 3 times 2 hours per week. You specify one or two hobbies in which you feel safe. You don't have to be an absolute expert, but you should be able to offer something. For each participant conducting at least one workshop with more than 5 participants, we grant a reduction of CHF 100 on the course price.

On Sunday after your arrival, we create a workshop plan so all participants get their money's worth.

Come on and join in!

Short of Cash?

Then sign in for washing up, tidying up, or cooking. If you take on one of these tasks, we will grant you a CHF 150 discount on the course price. Depending on the number of participants, we need one or more people responsible for each task.

For the job of a cook, we are looking for someone who already has experience cooking for groups - and who absolutely loves doing so.

Afternoon program

Done with your workshop? Our beautiful region offers countless opportunities to discover and relax:

From hiking in the Valais Alps around the Mont Blanc massif to bathing fun in Champex Lac including the possibility of a kayak, windsurf, or SUP adventure, to a city trip (Aosta Italy, Sion, Turin) or a cozy summer barbecue.

Evening program

Drinking wine. Discussing fascinating topics. Going on an evening walk. Enjoying a nice dinner. Having a delicious barbecue. Game night. Movie night. DJ workshop? Tango workshop?

Get the most out of your vacation but don't miss out on any fun

You dream of breathing in some fresh mountain air, away from the hustle and bustle? Of enjoying nature? You want to get to know new people and try different hobbies? And, of course, improve your language skills without the yawning void breaking out in your wallet? Then go ahead and sign up! We look forward to meeting you.

  1. Can I also conduct a workshop if only 2 participants register?
Of course. However, in that case you won't get a discount.

  2. Do I have to do a workshop?
No, but we're happy if you wish to share your talent with us :)

  3. My workshop incurs material costs. Who pays for it?
You can easily discuss it with the other participants.

  4. Do I have to be present for the afternoon/evening program or for the excursions?
No. We are all adult people and everyone can decide for themselves where and how they want to join.

  5. Who pays for the excursions?
The excursions are at the expense of the participants.

  6. I don't want to cook all week, but would be willing to organize dinner one time. Is this possible?
    For sure! Everything is possible!

  7. I'm not much of a party animal. Will I disturb the others when I go to bed early each evening?
Not at all. You are encouraged to do what makes you happy ;-).

TASKS

Cook

You cook for the crowd of guests! It doesn't have to be gourmet menus. We believe that as fresh and authentic as possible is always best. It would be ideal if you already had certain experience in cooking for groups.

Please contact us briefly before registering and we will discuss the situation.

For larger groups (15+) we may also work with an auxiliary cook.

Another option would be to take turns. If you would like to do such a culinary experiment, please mention it in the comments on the registration form.

Dishwashers/cleaners

You do the washing up and clean the tables. You are also responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen. You should expect 2 to 3 hours of work per day.

Cleaner

You clean the toilets and showers and sometimes take up the floor in the kitchen. After the other participants have left, you get the house back in shape.

We plan with one person in charge of washing-up and one cleaner for every 10 participants. There is also the possibility that the dishwasher and cleaner join forces and do all the tasks together.

Arrival is on Sunday from 2 p.m. A bus goes up to the stop in Liddes. From there you can walk down to the chalet for about 5 minutes, or you can let us know so that someone can come and pick you up. Maybe you also find someone to carpool with in advance.

Departure is on Saturday or Sunday.
