A winter camp for children and teenagers who want to discover all the beauties of the Swiss Alps

Winter in Switzerland is much more fun than you think! Just imagine a warm chalet at the foot of the mountains, with a garden surrounded by the most beautiful summits of the Alps, everything inside to have a lot of fun, and above all a lot of nice, friendly and interesting people to have fun with! This is the concept of this Winter camp: gather children and teenagers from all Swiss cantons and from other countries, provide everything they might need, and make sure they have a great time! Through numerous activities that we will do outside, such as snowshoeing, tobogganing, hiking, exploration and much more... Participants will have the opportunity to explore the Swiss Alps in a specific and interesting way.
After the afternoon activities, we will return to our chalet where the participants can relax and enjoy. Ping-pong tables, paint and pencils, projector, a piano, exercise mats, badminton rackets, volleyball balls, name-it-you-got-it, our chalet is perfectly equipped so that, whatever you like, you won’t be missing anything. And most of all, you won’t miss anyone to share your enthusiasm with!

A Language camp to learn English, German or French in a funny way

Team members (and most of the participants) come from different countries and are French, English or German native speakers. Mostly young and always motivated animators are here to make sure the participants are safe and have a wonderful time in our camp, and also to help them improve their language skills.  But not like in a school! It’s vacation time! 3 hours a day four times per week, children and teenagers will form very small groups (according to their level and age) to find out how they can improve their French, German or English through games. Because grammar is boring until you need it to explain “what would have done if you had not been” found during the last hide-and-seek game… Can you say that in German or French? And what’s more important: are you not already frustrated to not be sure to say it properly?

A wonderful vacation in the Swiss Valais

Our chalet is located in Liddes, a small village in the Grand Saint Bernard region, not far from France in Italy. The landscapes around it are incredible, it’s a safe place for children and teenagers to have fun, and they'll be treated like kings and queens in our chalet: our professional cooks prepare every day tasty and healthy meats, that we share together in our large dining room.

So what are you doing during the Winter break? Come and join us to explore the Swiss Alps, to take part in beautiful winter activities, and to learn French, English, and German language!

The highlight of this camp is the exploration of the Swiss Alps using various methods - sledding, tobogganing, snowshoeing, and many other winter activities!

Relais de Dranse

Our spacious chalet "Relais de Dranse", renovated in 2014, is situated in Liddes, Saint Bernard, in a wonderfully quiet location on the Dranse, a headstream of the river Rhone, about 5 minutes below the pass road to the Aosta Valley in Italy. Sprawling countryside and no passing traffic make it an absolutely perfect place to relax in comfort and warmth following a hard day's skiing. When it comes to sleeping, our chalet has a range of bedrooms that sleep between 4 and 8 persons in comfortable bunk beds.

Hostel Petit Vélan

The charming hostel Le Petit Vélan is located in the neighboring village of Bourg St. Pierre and has 23 beds. There are two quadruple rooms and four double rooms with a private bathroom, as well as another dormitory. We also regularly use the property as a classroom. Breakfast is served at the Petit Vélan, while participants will have their lunch and dinner at the Relais de Dranse. The Camp leaders transport the children by car every day.

Beside the Alps Camp winter activities and language learning, you'll get to explore the region during two full-day excursions each week:

Laser Tag and Lausanne
Following a morning of laser tag in Vevey, we'll head to Lausanne in the afternoon. Lying on the banks of Lake Geneva, with a stunning view of the Alps, Lausanne is home to the International Olympic Committee HQ and the Olympic Museum. The city is also home to art museums and galleries, and the medieval old town is well-known for its pedestrianised shopping streets.

Sion
Rising up from the base of the Rhône Valley, the Valais' capital city is a perfect blend of the old and new. Despite being typified by four hill-top castles that tower above the old town, Sion also takes on a deceptively modern appearance in some places and boasts numerous dining options.

Water Park and Montreux
Following a trip to an indoor, Caribbean themed water park in the morning, we'll spend the afternoon in Montreux. This picturesque resort town on the east of Lake Geneva is home to the world-famous Montreux Jazz Festival, which takes place every year in July. The town's celebrated lakeside promenade is colourfully decorated with flowers, trees and sculptures.

Evening Programme
When you're not out on the slopes, in class or out on an excursion, we've planned out an evening programme in the chalet for you to enjoy. This includes:

  • Disco night
  • Karaoke
  • Movie night
  • Casino
  • Quiz night
  • Swiss evening
