Martinique

Volcanic mountains and colorful coastline

Martinique

Martinique is a Caribbean Island that remains an overseas region of france. This volcanic and tropical island is centered around Mont Pelée, a volcano that is still technically active and that wiped out the island's original capital city, St-Pierre, in 1902.
Despite being a volcanic island, Martinique boasts a diverse range of terrains and landscapes, ranging from beautiful, stretching beaches, to rainforests and mountains.
While the capital city Fort-de-France, located on the central west coast, is an ever-growing urban metropolis, the island's stunning nature is still well-preserved both in the mountainous north and the beach-laden south of the island.
So if you're looking to learn French in a relaxed environment beneath the Caribbean sun, Martinique is just the place for you!
