French & English language Study holiday in Valais with friLingue for children & teenager - Autumn 2024
Learn French and English in our very own chalet in the Valaisian Alps, located in the Val d'Entremont, between France and Italy.
This camp in Liddes, Saint Bernard is aimed at young people between the ages of 8 and 17. Language lessons are held in small groups of 6 participants in average. Our sympathetic and dynamic teachers ensure that you will learn French or English with pleasure.
THE REGION AROUND THE GREAT ST. BERNHARD
The Great St. Bernhard Pass has been connecting the north with the south of Europe for thousands of years. The region saw numerous pilgrims on their way to Rome, but also traders and soldiers, including Napoleon's army, who marched to Marengo around 1800. Liddes is situated on a magnificent vantage point, facing the rising sun, at the entrance of the nature reserve of Combe de l'A.
THE DRANSE (DRANZE)
The 25 km long spring river Dranse d'Entremont has its origin in the area of the Great St. Bernhard Pass. It flows northwards and is collected in the Lac of the Toules for energy production. Then the Dranse d'Entremont crosses a height difference of 800 m in the valley of the Val d'Entremont, which lies west of the Grand Combin. In the Talkessel of Orsières, she takes the third head stream from the left, the "Dranse de Ferret", and then flows further northwards to Sembrancher.

LESSONS
Lessons are being held in small groups of 6 students in average.
WORKSHOPS
We currently offer a wide array of workshops, such as sports workshops (football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, ultimate frisbee, American football, etc.), art workshops (painting, drawing, graffiti, dance, yoga, meditation, etc.), cooking workshops and many else.
EVENING ACTIVITIES
Evening activities are the shining star of our language camp program, saving the best for last! We always put in the extra effort to include each and every student into the activity that's planned for the evening, and those activities are: disco night, karaoke night, card and board games night, casino night, movie night, campfire, zombie & werewolf games, sardines, reverse hide&seek, and many else.
EXCURSIONS
Half-day excursions
Right after their language lessons and lunch, we take our students to one of the nearby attractive locations near St. Bernard camp, which might be:
Champex - a stunningly beautiful small village with a great fairytale-like lake
Salt mines in Bex may not sound way too attractive but we highly recommend holding onto our hand when we descend into the dark pit and the intricate labyrinth of the salt mines.
Col du St. Bernard - a famous historical pass which was hosting Napoleon and Hannibal in their respective time periods, it's a must-visit once you are in St. Bernard!
Adventure park La Fouly is a beautiful and quite physically engaging complex, we guarantee that our students will remember this one!
Full-day excursions
Aletsch glacier is possibly the most physically demanding excursion our company has to offer but mark our words - it is worth every drop of sweat. Once you get up there on the altitude of little more than 4100m, you will witness the true greatness our majestic Swiss nature has to offer.
Sion - a city less than an hour drive away from St. Bernard camp, it has a rich history with a fortress in the middle of the city. Definitely worth visiting and spending a couple of hours there.
The Aosta valley is a stunning full-day excursion location in Northern Italy, where our students can experience all the beauties the Italian lifestyle has to offer, including hiking, rafting and pizza for dinner in one of Aosta's worldwide famous restaurants.
Emosson Dam is an architectural masterpiece with stunning hiking tracks and breathtaking panoramic views.
