Learn a language, create something you'll be proud of, at the friLingue Arts Camp!
This summer, the Language & Arts Camp takes place in Braunwald, in the canton of Glarus, Switzerland. Come and spend a week where language learning and artistic creation come together in a car-free mountain village, far from noise and screens. This camp is designed for young people aged 8 to 17 who want to make real progress in a language while unleashing their creativity. A level assessment is carried out on arrival, and all levels are welcome, from complete beginners to more advanced learners.
What's waiting for you?
Morning language classes: participants take English, German or French classes in small groups of 6 students. Groups are formed according to each person's level, so that everyone makes genuine progress. Classes are lively, interactive, and designed to make you want to speak.
Art workshops three times a week: in small groups guided by a dedicated art teacher, each participant freely chooses what they want to work on:
- Painting and drawing: explore colours, shapes and styles, from quick sketches to large compositions.
- Mosaic and pottery: work with materials, assemble, shape and create unique pieces with your hands.
- Creative writing: invent stories, characters and worlds. Language becomes a tool for creation.
- And many other options depending on the group's interests.
Throughout the week, a collective art project runs as a common thread. It culminates at the end of the stay in a group exhibition, where every participant proudly presents what they have made.
Excursions three times a week: the Glarus region is full of discoveries. Over the course of the week, the group heads out to explore hiking paths in the beautiful Swiss Alps, museums and more.
Evening activities: every evening, the whole camp gathers for campfire nights, games and shared moments that create the kind of memories people talk about for years.
Why choose the friLingue Arts Camp?
- A camp built on a human scale: at friLingue, we believe in keeping things small and family-spirited. The camp leader knows every child by name. No one is just a face in the crowd.
- An exceptional setting: a car-free mountain village in the canton of Glarus, where children have the space to breathe, create and grow in confidence.
Real language progress: six students per group, an attentive teacher, and a full week to dare to speak.
- The freedom to create: the art workshops are an open, judgement-free space where everyone explores at their own pace and follows their own interests.
- Everything included: accommodation, meals, workshops and excursions. All that is left to do is pack a bag.
Join us for a week of language, creativity and new friendships at the friLingue Language & Arts Camp. Whether your child is passionate about art, curious to learn a new language, or simply looking for an unforgettable summer adventure, this camp is made for them.
