“English & Science” summer camp in Cambridge (13–17 years)


This summer camp combines English lessons with exciting insights into the world of science and is ideal for teenagers who want to combine learning with hands-on experience.

The science programme is practice-oriented and covers topics from physics, chemistry and biology. Its aim is to help students understand fundamental scientific concepts while developing practical skills through experiments and projects.

A varied programme of experiments – from working with Bunsen burners and microscopes to carrying out small projects – ensures an engaging and interactive learning experience.

Each week includes 10 hours of English lessons and 10 hours of science classes. Lessons take place in international groups and are complemented by a varied leisure programme.

In addition to the classes, students explore Cambridge and the surrounding area through excursions and activities, experiencing an international summer in one of the world’s most famous university cities.

Accommodation is provided either in a host family or in a residence, depending on the selected programme.

Participants stay either in a host family or in a residence in Cambridge, depending on the selected option.

Host family (14–17 years)
Accommodation is provided in carefully selected host families, usually in shared twin rooms with other international students.

Host families are regularly checked by the school and offer an authentic insight into everyday British life. Bed linen is provided and laundry is usually done once per week.

Residence (13–17 years)
Accommodation is provided in a student residence in single or twin rooms. The rooms are modern and offer a comfortable living environment.

Depending on the building, the residence is located within walking distance of the school (up to approx. 15 minutes). Bed linen is provided; towels should be brought by the students. Laundry facilities are available on site.

Supervision staff are present in the residence at all times to ensure a safe and supervised environment.

Meals
Breakfast and dinner are provided daily. A packed lunch is included for midday.

English and science lessons are complemented by a varied programme of activities and excursions.

In the afternoons and evenings, students take part in a range of activities, including sports, creative workshops and social events. Examples include guided tours of Cambridge, museum visits, sports activities and group games.

Each week usually includes one full-day excursion (e.g. to London) as well as an additional half-day excursion in the region.

Some optional activities may involve additional costs and can be booked on site.

Excursions
Every Saturday there will be a full day trip to London. During the week, we will make excursions to Cambridge as well as to the surroundings of the city (in St Edmunds, Peterborough, etc.)

Airport transfer

Arrival usually takes place on Sunday and departure on Saturday.

Airport transfers from and to London Heathrow (LHR) and London Stansted (STN) are included in the price, provided that flights are booked within the specified time windows.

Recommended arrival and departure times:
- Arrival on Sunday between 09:00 and 17:00
- Departure on Saturday between 09:00 and 17:00

Arrivals outside these times
For arrivals or departures outside these time frames, or for flights via other airports (e.g. Gatwick or Luton), a private transfer can be arranged. Additional costs apply (see “Extras”) and may be shared where possible.
