“Over every mountain, there is a path, although it may not be seen from the valley.”
- Theodore Roethke
Explore the valleys, reach the heights and drift off the beaten track: friLingue is taking you into the wild!
Need fresh air and to live outdoors under a sky that’s ablaze with stars? Do you want to live out an adventure, and to feel that you really exist in contact with the elements and new sensations?
Then join our brand new Alpine Adventure Camp in Valais!
For teens aged between 12 and 17 years.
From descending the zip line at a breathtaking height, to rock climbing and canoeing down the river, many adventures await you here!
Warning: adrenaline rushes are guaranteed!
However, this camp does not consist simply of cheap thrills, you’ll also learn from your adventures in the heart of Europe’s mountainous nature. These practical lessons, including fauna & flora, geography and the energy issues of the region, will all be taught in English by our very own answer to Bear Grylls!
A checklist of what you’ll learn during this camp:
Taking into account the sheer volume of activities (language lessons in the morning, adventure camp activities in the afternoon), this is an intense camp for young people who want to move, act in thought and think in action - nature and culture go hand in hand for an intense and complete experience!
Please note: each week's afternoon and evening programme may change depending on the participants, the size of the group and the weather conditions.

Chalet
Accommodation is in the dormitories of our spacious chalet Relais de Dranse.
The chalet is situated in Liddes, Saint Bernard, on the Dranse, a headstream of the river Rhone, about 5 minutes below the pass road to the Aosta Valley in Italy. Sprawling countryside, towering mountains and no passing traffic make it absolutely perfect for authentic outdoor adventures!
Hostel Petit Vélan
The charming hostel Le Petit Vélan is located in the neighboring village of Bourg St. Pierre and has 23 beds. There are two quadruple rooms and four double rooms with a private bathroom, as well as another dormitory. We also regularly use the property as a classroom. Breakfast is served at the Petit Vélan, while participants will have their lunch and dinner at the Relais de Dranse. The Camp leaders transport the children by car every day.
During the overnight hiking excursion, you'll set up camp out in the wilderness. Taught and assisted by our professional instructors you'll set up a bivouac style camp just as real mountaineers do! Besides the overnight camping & hiking excursion, we'll take you on a river raft, to an adventure park, you'll cross a canyon with us - and that's just in the first week!
This is a sample programme. Activities and excursions may change depending on weather and other factors beyond our control.
