Summer is fast approaching, and it's time to think about activities that will enrich your child's vacation. If you haven't yet chosen the ideal friLingue camp, don't panic! With so many options available, it can be difficult to navigate. In this article, we guide you in choosing the perfect language camp based on your child's preferences and needs.
Mountain or Lake? The Ideal Environment for Learning
The first decision to make concerns the location: do you prefer the pure air of the Alps or the aquatic pleasures of a lake?
In the Mountains: Nature, Adventure and Tranquility
Our high-altitude camps, like St. Bernard and Braunwald, offer total immersion in nature, ideal for disconnecting and focusing on language learning.
St. Bernard: Nestled in the Valais Alps, this camp combines history and breathtaking landscapes. The hikes pass through the legendary Great St. Bernard Pass, used by Hannibal and Napoleon! Lake Champex is not far away though - we often go there to allow children to swim and do paddleboarding or pedal boating.
Braunwald: A car-free village, perched on a mountain, where you can breathe calm and pure air. Perfect for nature lovers! The only way to access Braunwald is by funicular.
By the Water: Fun and Water Activities
Do you prefer games in the sun and swimming? Our camps like Estavayer-le-Lac allow you to combine language courses with water leisure activities (sailing, water skiing, beach volleyball...). At Estavayer, we often take advantage of the beach to have campfires and barbecues by the water. Please note, however, that Estavayer is reserved for teenagers (12-17 years).
The Happy Medium? Schwarzsee!
Between lake and mountain, Schwarzsee (in Fribourg) offers the best of both worlds: an alpine setting with the magnificent Black Lake for swimming after classes. Please note, however, that Schwarzsee is reserved for teenagers (12-17 years).

In addition to classes, each camp offers exciting activities for all tastes.
Is your child a soccer fan? We recommend our Language and Soccer camp at Schwarzsee! (12 years minimum).
Does your child want to improve at tennis? We recommend our Language and Tennis camp at St Bernard.
At St Bernard, it's also possible to choose the Photography, Horse Riding or TikTok Creator Workshop option.
Do you have a child who loves adrenaline activities? Adventures? Who wants to learn to light a fire, navigate and bivouac in the mountains? Then we recommend our Language and Adventure camp at St Bernard!
Would your child like to discover programming? Then head to Braunwald!
Does your child want to deepen their artistic side? We have the Art option at Braunwald, where our visual arts teacher will guide each student on an artistic project.
Let your child express their creativity and energy through our dance workshops at Schwarzsee! Led by professionals, young people will discover different styles to current music. A perfect activity to let off steam, develop coordination and create original choreographies with friends.
For lovers of water sensations, our Estavayer camp offers introductions to sailing or water skiing. Under the supervision of qualified instructors, children will learn basic techniques while enjoying the magnificent lakeside setting. A sporting and refreshing experience that will delight little adventurers!

Estavayer-le-Lac: Entertainment and Group Life
Estavayer-le-Lac, a charming Swiss town on the shores of Lake Neuchâtel, combines medieval history, preserved nature and gentle living, ideal for lovers of calm and lakeside landscapes. Our dynamic Estavayer camp has a festive atmosphere, ideal for teens who love varied activities and large groups. Plus, each week, we go either go-karting or play laser tag in the forest!
Camps in the Heart of Nature: St. Bernard, Braunwald, Schwarzsee
For those who prefer calm, hiking, campfires and evening gatherings under the stars. Each of these camps is located in a village accessible by public transport.
With or Without Parents? The Question of Autonomy
"Family" Option: Learning Together
Some camps (like Braunwald and St-Bernard) offer family packages, where parents can be accommodated at the camp and participate in activities. A great opportunity to progress in languages as a family! We also offer the Family Workation option, for parents who don't want to participate in activities but can enjoy a place suitable for productive work, with office space, internet and a dream setting.
