Just as Cambridge University has been world famous for centuries, friLingue's partner school has been one of the best language schools in England for several decades since its founding in 1991. Numerous pupils from all over the world were already able to improve their English in the cozy classrooms with a warm-hearted atmosphere, in classes of usually 7-8 participants (maximum 12), with highly qualified teachers.
At this school, which is accredited by the British Council, you take an intermediate exam every week to gauge your progress. And honestly, this test is rather motivating than stressful. Especially if you want to take an official language test or study at an English university.
In addition to the lessons, you participate in exciting excursions and fun activities, get to know your classmates better and discover the beautiful Cambridge.
Please note that the school buildings are unfortunately not equipped for persons in wheelchairs.

- About this course:
Studying a General English course will give you an understanding of the English language and take you all the way from beginner to fluency. This course focuses on communication skills, speaking, listening, reading and writing.
Please plan your language stay so you arrive on a Sunday and leave on a Saturday.
Host family
A team member from our Cambridge Partner School is specifically responsible for finding and regularly reviewing the best host families in the city for you and your classmates, so you can get the most out of your language stay. Here you live in a single room with half board. Please let us know when registering for any nutritional requirements or allergies. The host families live a maximum of 5km from the school, have Wi-Fi access and you can once a week do your laundry.
School residence
You also have the opportunity to stay in the residence near the school. Here you live in a single room with bathroom and can prepare your own meals - in the kitchen, which you share with 5 other students.
The teaching day begins at 09:00. There are four 45-minute classes every morning, with breaks in between. The morning classes finish at 12.15 so students taking the 15-hour-a-week package would end their lessons.
After lunch, afternoon classes begin at 13.15. Students on the 21-hour-a-week package would have two 45-minute types each afternoon (Monday to Thursday), finishing at 14.45.
Students on the 24-hour-a-week package would have three 45-minute classes each afternoon (Monday to Thursday), finishing at 15.45.
The afternoon classes focus on IELTS preparation or other specific language skills.
Friday afternoons are free afternoons.
Depending on the season, the school offers after-school activities (fees to be paid locally). During the school year, students can join the campus soccer or basketball teams, and there are two or three outings per week: to a museum or tea house, a boat ride, a tour of Cambridge, etc. In the summer, there is at least one activity every day.
Take advantage of the airport transfer organized by the school or travel independently by train or car. The corresponding tariffs can be found in the registration form.
