Sport
Biarritz is one of the most famous seaside towns on the French Basque Coast, known for its beautiful beaches, relaxed Atlantic lifestyle and rich local culture. It is the perfect setting for teenagers who want to improve their French while enjoying an active and varied programme.
Our partner school is located in Biarritz and welcomes students from different countries in an international and friendly environment. The French course includes 20 lessons per week and takes place in groups of up to 14 students. Lessons focus on practical communication and help students develop their speaking, listening and overall language skills.
Alongside the French course, students take part in four sports activities per week. Depending on the programme, these may include rugby, bike tours, indoor climbing, trampoline park, skateboarding, golf, Basque pelota, Hawaiian canoeing or beach volleyball.
A half-day cultural and social activity is also included each week, giving students the opportunity to discover Biarritz and the surrounding Basque region. Possible activities and excursions include the Cité du Surf et de l’Océan, the Aquarium or visits to Bayonne and Saint-Jean-de-Luz.
Students stay with carefully selected local host families on a half-board basis. Breakfast and dinner are shared with the host family, offering plenty of opportunities to practise French in everyday situations and experience French culture first-hand. Whenever possible, students share a room with another participant of a different mother tongue.
French lessons, sports, culture and life on the Atlantic Coast come together to create a varied programme for teenagers who want to improve their French while experiencing Biarritz and the French Basque Country.

All teachers are qualified and experienced in teaching French as a Foreign Language (FLE).
Before arrival, students complete an online placement test. An additional oral assessment takes place on Monday morning to determine the appropriate language level.
Participants stay with carefully selected host families in the Biarritz, Anglet or Bayonne area.
Accommodation is in shared rooms with other international students. Whenever possible, the school aims to place students with different mother tongues together to encourage communication in French.
Host families offer an authentic insight into everyday French life and are carefully selected by the school.
Breakfast and dinner are provided by the host family. Lunch is not included in the programme. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated if the school is informed at least three weeks before the start of the programme.
Host families are usually located within approximately 30 to 40 minutes of the school by public transport.
