Come and try out the Alpine slopes in our New Ski & Snowboard Camp 2021-2022 in the Swiss Alps!

We're offering kids (aged between 8 and 17) and families the chance to ski and learn a language in the heart of Europe's most popular skiing regions! Parents don't want to feel left out? No problem: we offer a range of family packages as well!

The camp is made up of 12 hours of morning language lessons (English, French and German) and 15 hours of afternoon ski or snowboard  lessons a week, as well as a full excursion and social programs to keep you entertained from dawn until dusk!

More of a skier than a linguist? Again, no problem! You can take 10 hours of extra ski or snowboard lessons instead of the language course for no extra cost.

Our chalet is located in Saint Bernard, canton Valais, and is just a 20 minute drive away from Verbier, the largest ski resort that's entirely within Swiss borders!

So what are you waiting for? Get over your January blues and join friLingue for an Alpine skiing experience to finish 2021 and kick-start 2022 in style!

Our spacious chalet "Relais de Dranse", renovated in 2014, is situated in Liddes, Saint Bernard, in a wonderfully quiet location on the Dranse, a headstream of the river Rhone, about 5 minutes below the pass road to the Aosta Valley in Italy. Sprawling countryside and no passing traffic make it an absolutely perfect place to relax in comfort and warmth following a hard day's skiing. When it comes to sleeping, our chalet has a range of bedrooms that sleep between 4 and 8 persons in comfortable bunkbeds.

Hostel Petit Vélan

The charming hostel Le Petit Vélan is located in the neighboring village of Bourg St. Pierre and has 23 beds. There are two quadruple rooms and four double rooms with a private bathroom, as well as another dormitory. We also regularly use the property as a classroom. Breakfast is served at the Petit Vélan, while participants will have their lunch and dinner at the Relais de Dranse. The Camp leaders transport the children by car every day.

This is a sample programme. Activities and excursions may change depending on weather and other factors beyond our control.

As well as skiing (or snowboarding) and language learning, you'll get explore the region during two excursions each week:

Following a morning of laser tag in Vevey, we'll head to Lausanne in the afternoon. Lying on the banks of Lake Geneva, with a stunning view of the Alps, Lausanne is home to the International Olympic Committee HQ and the Olympic Museum. The city is also home to art museums and galleries, and the medieval old town is well-known for its pedestrianised shopping streets.

Rising up from the base of the Rhône Valley, the Valais' capital city is a perfect blend of the old and new. Despite being typified by four hill-top castles that tower above the old town, Sion also takes on a deceptively modern appearance in some places and boasts numerous dining options.

Following a trip to an indoor, Caribbean themed water park in the morning, we'll spend the afternoon in Montreux. This picturesque resort town on the east of Lake Geneva, is home to the world-famous Montreux Jazz Festival, which takes place every year in July. The town's celebrated lake side promenade is colourfully decorated with flowers, trees and sculptures.

When you're not out on the slopes, in class or out on an excursion, we've planned out an evening programme in the chalet for you to enjoy. This includes:

  • Disco night
  • Karaoke
  • Movie night
  • Casino
  • Quiz night
  • Swiss evening
